Xplode Football January-August 2012
If you’ve clicked here you’re already aware that football is a high paced, action packed hard hitting affair. A virtual war if you will. But if you’ve clicked here you’re also likely aware that Xplode football is the only football training program that prepares the fastest, strongest, most successful players, and has been doing so for the last 5 years. Using principles from sports such as strongman and powerlifting, as well as consulting with top level strength coaches across Canada and the US, we’ve put together a program specifically designed to have football players prepared for battle.
If you’re a football player and looking to be on top of your game next season, Xplode football is the place for you. We’ve got options from our full off season strength and conditioning programs, 6 week mini camps for smaller (younger) groups, as well team and individual correspondence programs. On top of all that we still offer our CFL Combine Prep program which in the last 4 years has seen our athletes produce a record bench press performance, the fastest 40yd dash in camp, the highest vertical in camp, and numerous top finishes positionally. The numbers have helped catapult our athletes in draft standings and prepare them for professional careers.
How do we get these results?
Well, first our athletes are brought in for a full assessment. We look at their bench press, chinups, shoulder flexibility as well as rotator cuff strength. Then they are taken through a series of lower body structural balance and flexibility tests. Finally we look at their conditioning, speed, and heart with our special tred sled test. Each players results are analyzed and individual modifications are made to assure they will get maximum results from the program.
During the workouts athletes train alongside other football players and are guided by certified strength and conditioning coaches and pushed to reach their full potential. Training with their peers creates a high energy, competitive environment comparable to practice, giving players an edge in the gym.
Aside from your conventional weight room lifts such as squatting, benching and deadlifting we include strongman movements to increase speed, strength and explosiveness. Some examples of these lifts are:
Tire Flipping – to develop the posterior chain (hamstrings and glutes).
Sledgehammer Work – to enhance core and grip strength
Various log lifts — upper body conditioning and explosiveness
Farmers Walks – true functional core and grip development
Prowler and Tred Sled — overall conditioning and incredible speed development
Should you decide you’ve got what it takes to endure a full off season of Xplode football you’ll be taken through the same program all of our professional football players have been taken through. You can feel free to ask Brady Browne, Wes Lysack, Eddie Steele, Andre Clarke, Don Oramasionwu or Justin Phinisee how much they improve from off season to off season.
