But if you’ve clicked here you’re also likely aware that Xplode foot­ball is the only foot­ball train­ing pro­gram that pre­pares the fastest, strongest, most suc­cess­ful play­ers, and has been doing so for the last 5 years. Using prin­ci­ples from sports such as strong­man and pow­er­lift­ing, as well as con­sult­ing with top level strength coaches across Canada and the US, we’ve put together a pro­gram specif­i­cally designed to have foot­ball play­ers pre­pared for battle.

If you’re a foot­ball player and look­ing to be on top of your game next sea­son, Xplode  foot­ball is the place for you. We’ve got options from our full off sea­son strength and con­di­tion­ing pro­grams, 6 week mini camps for smaller (younger) groups, as well team and indi­vid­ual cor­re­spon­dence pro­grams. On top of all that we still offer our CFL Com­bine Prep pro­gram which in the last 4 years has seen our ath­letes pro­duce a record bench press per­for­mance, the fastest 40yd dash in camp, the high­est ver­ti­cal in camp, and numer­ous top fin­ishes posi­tion­ally. The num­bers have helped cat­a­pult our ath­letes in draft stand­ings and pre­pare them for pro­fes­sional careers.

How do we get these results?
Well, first our ath­letes are brought in for a full assess­ment. We look at their bench press, chin­ups, shoul­der flex­i­bil­ity as well as rota­tor cuff strength. Then they are taken through a series of lower body struc­tural bal­ance and flex­i­bil­ity tests. Finally we look at their con­di­tion­ing, speed, and heart with our spe­cial tred sled test. Each play­ers results are ana­lyzed and indi­vid­ual mod­i­fi­ca­tions are made to assure they will get max­i­mum results from the program.

Dur­ing the work­outs ath­letes train along­side other foot­ball play­ers and are guided by cer­ti­fied strength and con­di­tion­ing coaches and pushed to reach their full poten­tial. Train­ing with their peers cre­ates a high energy, com­pet­i­tive envi­ron­ment com­pa­ra­ble to prac­tice, giv­ing play­ers an edge in the gym.

Aside from your con­ven­tional weight room lifts such as squat­ting, bench­ing and dead­lift­ing we include strong­man move­ments to increase speed, strength and explo­sive­ness. Some exam­ples of these lifts are:

Tire Flip­ping – to develop the pos­te­rior chain (ham­strings and glutes).
Sledge­ham­mer Work – to enhance core and grip strength
Var­i­ous log lifts — upper body con­di­tion­ing and explo­sive­ness
Farm­ers Walks – true func­tional core and grip devel­op­ment
Prowler and Tred Sled — over­all con­di­tion­ing and incred­i­ble speed development
